Day 19: 304 lbs
Gained another pound today.
Even though I'm getting used to the idea of daily fluctuations and gaining/losing 4-5 lbs of water, it is still annoying. I want results now! None of these fluctuations and wobbles! When I lost weight in college, I didn't weigh myself at all until months into the diet, so charting daily weight fluctuations is something new. Seeing that the daily variation in weight can be as much as a week's worth of actual weight loss is something of an eye-opener: now I understand why weekly weight-ins can be discouraging.
If the pattern from the past couple weeks holds, I should lose several pounds of water in a day or two, then gain them all back again. I wonder if there's some biological rhythm associated with the retention and loss of water.
In any event, I stuck to my 1,500 calorie quota yesterday.
But there's a new challenge looming: I have a 3-day business trip scheduled for next week. I won't be able to rely on established patterns to stick to my diet.
