Day 31: 295 lbs
Dropped a pound yesterday.
That makes exactly 20 pounds in exactly 30 days. That's some nice symmetry. 2/3 pound per day.
2/3 pound is about 2,000 calories, so my body is burning an average of 2,000 more calories per day than I'm consuming. Or about 4,500 calories per day.
20 pounds is also exactly one-sixth of the way to my goal (total loss of 120 pounds to end at 195). So 20 pounds in one month means that I'm one month into a six month weight loss program (then I have to keep it off).
It isn't that neat, though, since as I lose weight my body will burn fewer calories (unless I exercise more). But it's good enough for government work.
