Day 53: 291 lbs

I dropped three pounds yesterday, and I'm almost back to where I was on the 2nd. This is progress, I hope.

I was hungry again yesterday, several times throughout the day. Nobody likes being hungry, but I'd rather have that than the more insidious forms of temptation. Hunger, at least, is straightforward: your stomach growls, and you tell it to go pound sand. Temptation is a tiny little voice whispering in your ear that just a taste of the ice cream or potato chips won't matter. How many calories can be in just a chip or two?

Temptation is so quiet that you might not even hear the voice to recognize and dispel it. But if you act on it once, then you'll act on it again, and with less thought than the first time. You have to train yourself to first recognize the voice before you can learn to ignore it.
