Day 58: 289 lbs
Break out the champagne, er, diet ginger ale! I finally broke 290, which was my low exactly three weeks ago today.
That's three weeks of basically no weight loss, after the first five weeks saw a very consistent 2/3 pound per day of weight loss. One way to look at it is that I'm 13 lbs behind where I would have been if I'd followed the earlier curve.
A week ago, I was 14 lbs behind that curve by the way, so I'm no falling further behind any more.
But the important thing is to focus on the future, on continuing to lose weight from where I am today, rather than looking back to the past. Except to figure out what went wrong, of course.
So what went wrong? Was my Day Off My Diet a complete disaster? Surely I couldn't have eaten enough to gain 14 lbs on that one day!
I think what may have happened is that I let myself slip back into old habits on that one day, and didn't catch it for a week or two (when my weight started going up instead of down). That is, I stopped paying much attention to what I was eating, and started thinking that a nibble of this and a bit of that wouldn't matter.
So let's add that to the book of lessons learned: the most important thing--even more important than eating less-is paying attention to what I eat. Every bite is important.
