Day 135: 272 lbs

Ouch! Gained seven pounds in one day! My body is rebelling!

Yesterday went well for me until dinnertime. I got through the pizza lunch with the kids and the birthday cake (January is birthday month in our home) without blowing my diet. But then we had a party in the evening, and my wife suggested we go out for dinner, the first time we've been out to dinner together (without the kids) for at least a month. I couldn't say no, but I didn't have anywhere near enough calories left over in my quota for a dinner out.

So I blew my diet. I don't know how man y calories I wound up consuming (call it 2,500) but it was clearly over my quota.

But seven pounds?!?

I think, actually, that my body is retaining a lot of water, probably because I ate some very salty foods yesterday, and maybe also because I spent some time splitting firewood for the first time in a couple weeks. I don't know why, but when I exercise hard, my body seems to want to retain water for a day or two afterwards.

So cross your fingers, maybe I can shed these seven pounds quickly and get back on track.
