Day 137: 270 lbs

I lost four pounds yesterday, which is nice because it proves that my dip down to 265 wasn't entirely a figment of my imagination.

I've figured out what my undoing is: chocolate cake. Not that I've been eating too much of it the past few days (though that is probably true, too), but that something about eating even the tiniest piece of chocolate cake makes my bode bloat up and my innards swell. Last Saturday was my oldest son's birthday, and we had chocolate cake. I ate chocolate cake on Sunday, too, and yesterday. And I'm still five pounds heavier than I was last Saturday morning.

So there's a Diet Commandment Amendment:

Diet Commandment Amendment 1: Thou Shalt Not Eat Chocolate Cake. Ever.

Yesterday I broke my diet thanks to (you guessed it) chocolate cake. I stuck to my diet for the entire day, but then everyone was having leftover birthday cake and I had a slice, too. Except for that, it would have been a good diet day. But as it is, call it a four or ten for diet compliance. I went about 600 calories over my 1,500 calorie quota. Bleagh.

But I will resist the temptation today, and leave the chocolate cake for the kids.
