Day 176: 266 lbs
The water weight I gained the day before yesterday came off yesterday, and I lost three pounds yesterday. Yesterday was an OK diet day: not perfect, but not bad either. I would call it an 8 of 10 for sticking to my diet. I did two things wrong: I had a handful of chips at lunch, and I went about 20 calories over my quota of 1,500 for the day. Neither of those is a major transgression, though I really am trying to not give in to the temptation of those chips.
There are three problems with the chips: First, we have a big bag of them in the lunchroom for all takers, so there's no easy way to measure how much I take. I think I'm taking (for example) 2 oz of chips, but I have no idea if that's right. And when I have no idea if I'm right, there's a strong temptation to fudge. Second, the chips are salty, which makes me retain water. And third, they're fatty, which doesn't help with the overall healthiness of my diet.
The best strategy I can think of is to keep the office fridge stocked with healthy munchy foods like baby carrots and snap peas. That fulfills my urge to nibble but without the nasty side-effects.
Today's reason for wanting to be 195 lbs: So I can show the snack food companies who's boss.
