Day 182: 266 lbs
I did a pretty good job on my diet yesterday. I didn't measure my portion at dinner very carefully, but that was pretty much the only quibble. No change in my weight since yesterday.
And today, I managed to avoid the girl scout cookies at the office. In fact, I brought in some Oreos we had at home for other people to eat, and managed to keep my hands off of those, too. This is a tried-and-true method for getting rid of treats I shouldn't be eating. Let someone else gain the weight.
But one of my coworkers wasn't so happy. He blamed me for his gain of 12 pounds since Christmas (the more likely cause is that his doctor has been changing his heart medications), and said he'd had nothing to eat all day except "those damn cookies."
"Buddha taught us that physical pleasure is merely transitory, and a distraction from attaining true enlightenment," I told him.
I don't think he appreciated the advice.
