Day 283: 267 lbs

I gained three pounds yesterday. How annoying.

I did have a little trouble with my diet yesterday, since my family decided to go out for dinner and I hadn't been expecting it. At least I convinced everyone to go somewhere reasonably healthy. Still...my calorie count for dinner was a complete guess, and I went about 250 calories over my quota for the day.

I've been contemplating logging exercise. On the one hand, it would be interesting to track, and I do get a decent amount (yesterday about 650 calories worth). But on the other hand, my diet tracker counts exercise oddly: it subtracts the exercise from the calories I've eaten that day, showing that I have more calories remaining than I actually do.

I can understand why some people would want to track exercise this way, but I just want to keep track of exercise, not figure it into my calorie quota. The calorie tables for exercise are approximate enough (that is to say, I don't really believe them), and counting how much I did is vague enough that I don't want to wind up eating way more than I should because I overcounted some exercise.

Still, it would be nice to track the exercise. Just not the way my diet software wants to.
