Day 366: 270 lbs
I started a new year of dieting on the right foot: I lost a pound from yesterday.
It wasn't actually the most auspicious start (or re-start perhaps) to a year of dieting, since I went about 200 calories over my quota yesterday. I had been very good, until my parents invited the whole family out for dinner at a nice restaurant. I did the best I could, ordering light, but still went over.
Plus the calorie count for dinner was a complete guess. I really can't be guessing too much, since (as I know from experience) the temptation is to log too few calories.
For example, check out this entry from a year ago, on the fourth day of my diet. Even on Day Four, I was worried about the slippery slope of not logging things and not being absolutely scrupulous about my calorie counting.
On the positive side, I found the time to spend about three hours splitting and cutting firewood yesterday, and it had been a long time since I've been able to do that. It was great exercise, plus I got nearly the entire pile of firewood cleared out of our driveway (where it had been sitting since early July).
Today's challenge will be a birthday party for the kids, where I'll have to spend several hours surrounded by pizza, cake, ice cream, and other very tempting items.
If I want to fit into those size-38 pants, I'll need to resist.
