Day 372: 267 lbs
I think I answered the question of whether I was retaining water or just being very bad about my diet. I lost five pounds since yesterday, which can only be water.
The irony is that I also broke my diet yesterday. Going out for pizza for dinner did me in, though I wasn't entirely an angel the rest of the day. I hadn't been doing a good job of avoiding temptation, and at dinnertime I only had a couple hundred calories left. I had hoped to limit myself to salad, but that plan didn't work.
In the end, I went about 1,000 calories over my 1,500 calorie quota.
So I guess I'm still somewhat struggling to get my diet back on track, though on the whole this week was better than many recently.
What could I have done differently? Mainly, I should have resisted the temptation to try the samples when I went grocery shopping. That was my first mistake.
That left me with only a couple hundred calories by dinner, and so I could only have a salad when a big pizza was staring me in the face.
