Day 522: 280 lbs

There's an old aphorism that goes: "When alone, be not idle. When idle, be not alone."

It's a prescription for what used to be called melancholy, now called depression, but it seems to hold true for dieting as well. For me at least, the diet-killers are (a) snacking between meals, partly because of boredom, and (b) taking too much at mealtime.

So if I can be not idle when alone, that solves part of my problem right there.

Yesterday I was not idle. And even though I wasn't tracking my calories, I'm guessing that I stayed below my 1,500 calorie quota just from lack of time to eat.

Sadly, things break down again as soon as I slow down. So I may not be able to rely on the "be not idle" theory of dieting.
